She has also managed a world-renowned research centre, the Douglas Hospital Research Centre. Ms. McVey, currently President and CEO of the Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre, is known for her patient-centric approach to healthcare. Her main priority is to ensure excellence of all medical and social services offered to the population.
Her extensive experience in the Quebec health and social services network will complement the strengths of other MHCC board members. She will sit alongside many influential members of the community, including the Honourable Michael Wilson, who was Canada’s ambassador to the United States from 2006 to 2009.
The MHCC brings together experts from coast to coast to coast to design innovative programs and tools that promote the mental health and well-being of Canadians while developing sound public policy. A cornerstone of the MHCC’s work is to consult people living with a disease or mental health problem and their families in all of their projects. MHCC staff, members of its Board of Directors and Advisory Board share a common goal: creating a better mental health system in Canada.
