Building Hope – The movement is an awareness campaign to support research on mental health at the Douglas Institute and to build hope for all those whose lives have been affected by mental illness.
We have all talked a lot about mental health in the last months without really knowing what we can do to help. Hope is possible with a better understanding of mental illness and this knowledge is acquired through research. The Douglas Institute is a global pioneer in mental health and has been at the core of innovation since it was first established. It also houses the most important mental health research center in Quebec.
François Massicotte chose to be our spokesperson because he suffers from a bipolar disorder and is convinced that positive and lasting change is possible through the work of our experts in mental health. Comedian Jay Du Temple will conclude the tour of his second one-man show FIN with a major challenge: crossing Canada by running and cycling. He is carrying out this challenge for the benefit of the Douglas Foundation to support mental health research.
