Building Hope – The movement is an awareness campaign to support research on mental health at the Douglas Institute and to build hope for all those whose lives have been affected by mental illness.
We have all talked a lot about mental health in the last months without really knowing what we can do to help. Hope is possible with a better understanding of mental illness and this knowledge is acquired through research. The Douglas Institute is a global pioneer in mental health and has been at the core of innovation since it was first established. It also houses the most important mental health research center in Quebec.
François Massicotte chose to be our spokesperson because he suffers from a bipolar disorder and is convinced that positive and lasting change is possible through the work of our experts in mental health. The 3rd edition of the Mind on Health Challenge raises $99,760 to support mental health research and care at the Douglas Institute.
Each year the Integrated Services for Indigenous Communities (ISIC) program receives over 110 Indigenous patients in need of hospitalization for acute mental health support.
