$185,000 raised at the Douglas BBQ

The first edition of the Douglas BBQ for Mental Health was a big success thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors.

The presence and generosity of the attendees marked a significant milestone for the Douglas Foundation’s mission. Thanks to their support, an impressive $185,000 was raised to support mental health research at the Douglas Institute.

The inaugural BBQ Douglas event turned out to be a true success, made possible by the commitment of participants, partners, and the Lighter Committee volunteers. The evening was a refined blend of unique gastronomic experiences, masterfully crafted by BBQ Québec, and touching moments, enhanced by the moving musical performances of invited artists, including Jonathan Roy.

The Douglas Foundation would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to its valuable partners, whose support was crucial to the event’s success. Principal partners Canderel and Tory’s LLP played a key role with their unwavering commitment. Bronze partners—Bank of Nova Scotia, Stikeman Elliott, PlusGrade, and the Amiel Family Foundation—also made essential contributions that helped advance the Foundation’s mission. Together, let us build hope for all those whose lives have been affected by mental illness. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
