{"id":3951,"date":"2022-05-17T10:08:40","date_gmt":"2022-05-17T15:08:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fondationdouglas.qc.ca\/?p=3951"},"modified":"2022-08-30T11:44:06","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T16:44:06","slug":"the-mind-on-health-challenge-2022-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondationdouglas.qc.ca\/en\/news\/defi-sante-en-tete-edition-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"The Mind on Health Challenge, 2022 edition"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<section  class=\"text-block text-left\" data-scroll-section data-animator-id=\"text_block\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"row justify-content-center\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-12 col-md-10 col-lg-8 content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"text-block-intro\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/fondationdouglas.akaraisin.com\/ui\/mindonhealth22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Mind on Health Challenge<\/strong><\/a> has a fundraising objective of <strong>$85,000<\/strong> to support research and care at the <a href=\"https:\/\/fondationdouglas.qc.ca\/en\/douglas-history\/\">Douglas Institute<\/a>, which is $35,000 more than last year.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Thibeault<\/strong>, who is the founder and ambassador of the event, believes that it is now essential to act in the face of what many call the &#8220;second pandemic&#8221;, that is to say the marked resurgence of the need for mental health resources in Quebec and Canada. She brings up some rather concerning recent statistics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>35% of salaried people in Canada say they are burnt out.<\/li>\n<li>One in five workers feels in crisis or is worried about their ability to cope with the situation.<\/li>\n<li>At least 30% of short-term and long-term disability claims in the country are attributable to mental illnesses or mental health-related issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne, who firmly defends the benefits of physical activity on mental health, believes that the Mind on Health Challenge is a perfect opportunity for families, individuals and businesses to talk openly and proactively about mental health and create opportunities for empathetic dialogues to break taboos, while raising funds to support research at the Douglas.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, inspired by the theme of &#8220;reaching your peak for mental health&#8221;, the sports challenge invites donors to <a href=\"https:\/\/fondationdouglas.akaraisin.com\/ui\/mindonhealth22\/pledge\/registration\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>register individually<\/strong><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/fondationdouglas.akaraisin.com\/ui\/mindonhealth22\/pledge\/registration\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>form a team<\/strong><\/a> to take up a challenge of their choice during the Thanksgiving weekend, including the possibility of climbing a summit of a ski resort.<\/p>\n<p>So far, twenty-two mountains have confirmed their participation in the initiative, namely <a href=\"https:\/\/montorford.com\/en-ca\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mont-Orford<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mont-sainte-anne.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mont-Sainte-Anne<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ski-stoneham.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stoneham<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/owlshead.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Owl&#8217;s H<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/owlshead.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ead<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valleebleue.com\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" Tuque<\/a><strong>, <\/strong>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skimontcalm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ski Montcalm<\/a> station, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valsaintcome.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Val Saint-C\u00f4me<\/a> ski station, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parcmontbellevue.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Park of Mont-Bellevue<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/montgrandfonds.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mont Grand-Fonds<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/skisaintbruno.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Saint-Bruno<\/a> ski
